Please join us in welcoming our new bassist and the latest addition to the NFD family, Mr. Lars Kappeler.
Lars came highly recommended to us and after his first six days working together this month he has proven to be an excellent addition! An exceptional musician, embracing both the Goth Rock side and heavier elements of NFD fully, we threw him in at the deep end and pushed him out of his conform zone and he rose to every challenge enthusiastically and successfully.
VIVE LE GOTH:
After last months (Issue 101) Gothtasic review in Vive Le Rock, NFD are back in the latest issue with a feature!
Almost sounding intelligent in this one and like I know what I am talking about but that is mainly thanks to the cool dude that is Mr. Lee Powell for putting together a cracking feature with one of the two pages dedicated to my large cowboy hatted bonce! That must be worth the money alone....surely?

REMIX BY MARK GEMINI THWAITE:
Everyone at NFD Towers is extremely pleased to announce TRINITY includes an outstanding Remix by the fantastic Mr Mark Gemini Thwaite.
You will already know Mark has played with many great musicians and bands over the years including The Mission and Peter Murphy. He also has his own project M.G.T. which had a hit with a version of ABBA's 'Knowing Me Knowing You' featuring Ville Valo on vocals. Myself and Mark were messaging back and forth upon its release as we watched the video start racking up a million plus views in just one day! Crazy but well deserved! It is now at 4.2 million views and counting!
Mark has done many awesome remixes over the years and we are very happy to now count ourselves amongst their number. He took the lead track from Trinity, all 8mins 42seconds of it, did his thing and turned it into 7mins 22seconds of M.G.T. Mayhem. I was really excited to get my hands on it and have listened to it countless times now. I love it more every time I hear it and my ears still keep turning up cool new details he put in it. A fantastic job all round and I think this will find its way onto many alternative dance floors and radio stations.

Mr Christo is well known for his years with The Sister Of Mercy as well as many other great outfits such as Diamond Black. Ben is going from strength to strength with T.S.O.M. and they are now writing lots of new material which is something many thought may would happen! I for one am very exited about this!
I have had the pleasure of knowing this fine chap for many years now and we have had a number of fun times one of which saw the pair of us singing 'Lady Evil' by Black Sabbath at the top of our voices through the streets of Hollywood after a riotous night at L.A.'s Bar Sinister. This subsequently lead to a donut frenzy as a bakery opening at the crack of dawn was all we could find open on the way back home! What will be will be!

Ben decided he wanted to do more of a version than a direct remix adding some of his vocals and guitar lines and we were happy to let him do his thing. This version is a particular favorite of our Chris Milden and I understand why, taking things to another dimension with some beautiful haunting guitar lines and smooth vocals in bold contrast to my own! It all works extremely well which is a testament to the professionalism that Mr. Christo embodies. As we were progressing with it Ben asked me did I think his version was too far removed from the NFD sound and I said "F**k it, let's just do it, no point doing it if it all just sounds the same!".
Much as M.G.T. has made his remix absolutely his own, Ben's version has Christo written all over it which makes for more variety and a much Deeper Vision!

We are very pleased to bring a new musician into the mix for this release. The extremely emotive and talented Arulei (pronounced Ah-re-lay) has been bought in to contribute some subtle but essential live strings in the form of violins.

Our Italian team drummed up a massive success this weekend! The power house of NFD’s rhythm section Luca Mazzucconi laid down the drums for the lead track of our next release and also some demo drums for next years album! If you don’t know by now I consider Luca NFD’s secret weapon! His skills are off the chart!
At the helm for recording was Francesco Matano (left) master of ceremonies at Musicaperilcervello Studios. He did a killer job of capturing the insane energy and skill that Luca was unleashing! The main track, which is heavily driven by cyclical tom pattern was sounding mind-blowing on the 6 minute version and even more so on the extended 8 minute version! Outstanding work from both of them! Special thanks to Roberto Pina for helping out with extra mics! We had 8 on the toms alone!
The amazing Sarah Locatelli and Kevin Riva were on video and Camera duties. A big thanks to both of them! You might recognize Sarah from some of our merch pictures! This is her second time helping us out and I am hoping she will become a regular part fo the team moving forward.
Once everything has arrived in the Mojave I will start finalizing the rest of the recording and then begin the mixing. Expect some video clips and a bit of an article on this session at our website soon!

NEW NFD YOUTUBE CHANNEL
The march forward continues towards getting NFD back up and running as a live unit, and releasing new material. One of the next steps in this path is the creation of a dedicated YouTube channel. Older music videos will still be hosted at the channel of the mighty Jungle Records but any future content will now be hosted on our own channel.
Although currently sparsely populated we will begin in a few weeks to upload some live performances that have until now been only on our Facebook site, then as the year progresses new content will be added.
This content will likely include some interviews, Q&A's and behind the scenes content the we have previously not ventured into. There are lots of exciting possibilities.
For now we would love it if you took the time to subscribe to out new channel so you are ready to go as new Gothic Goodness arrives.

A small consolation was that we were able to unleashed the digital copy to everyone that preordered on December 24th so they had could blast it out over the holidays!
A BIG thank you to everyone that sent us messages telling us how much they were enjoying it! A lot of praise for this Boxset is deserved by Ed Shorrock, our head honcho at NFD Towers who was fundamental in bringing this release into being and the magician of mastering Gordon Young who was tested to the max, forging 20 years worth of diverse material into one Abyssal Beast! He did an incredible job!

Requiems From The Abyss is a 3CD Box celebrating 20 years of NFD's history. The boxset includes 3CDs packed full of fully remastered versions and edits of existing releases, promos and never-before released tracks. Included in the package is a 24 page full colour booklet with an introduction written by Bob and edited by the legendary Mick Mercer and contains many never before seen photos. Also included is a fold out poster and 5 postcards detailed with the imagery that drives the band forward.
The pre-order of the physical CD boxsets is priced at £25, which will rise to £30 after the end of the pre-order period. The first 125 orders (direct from the band on Bandcamp) had a super rare promo CD of 'When The Sun Dies', only sent out to magazines and radio stations back in the day added to their package. The first 500 orders had a limited edition art flyer signed by Bob added to their package.
Although all these have now been claimed everyone ordering from the band will receive a limited edition metal badge only available with the physical boxset.
Preorders will run until the stock arrives at NFD Towers.
